Exercise and Diet: Healthy Means to a Vascular Healthy Heart

April 11th, 2011

Although a natural diet means a way to a vascular healthy heart, exercise needs to be included in your routine. If you combine these two, you assure yourself of an excellent chance at having fewer heart problems. Nothing can guarantee that you won’t have a heart attack in our stressful society; however, eating healthy and having a daily exercise routine cuts down on your chances.

A healthy vascular system and heart sometimes means exercise and diet are a necessity.  Diet is a topic I will cover in a future article, but for now let’s look at exercise. In most cases exercise can make up for a poor diet. Exercise aids in digestion. It keeps the blood flowing at a good rate, and exercise strengthens the heart muscle so it has to pump less often to do the same job.

How much exercise do I need to keep my vascular system healthy? The first thing you need to do is consult your physician! It matters not if you are young or old, beginning an exercise regimen should begin at the doctor’s office. Here you need to get a good physical examination to be sure your heart and vascular system can stand the exercise you need or want to do. So be sure to consult your physician to make sure you are healthy enough to exercise.

Some of the best exercises you can do to keep your vascular system and heart healthy are aerobic exercises. Walking is one of the best aerobic exercises for a healthy heart.

Walking as an aerobic exercise doesn’t consist of a stroll through the park or in the neighborhood. You need to walk at about a 25 to 30 minute mile providing your doctor says you can reach that plateau. If at first you can’t walk that fast, you need to keep improving until you have built up your stamina to the point where you can walk at that pace. The American Heart Association recommends that you walk at least four (4) miles each day to maintain a healthy heart.

So to have a vascular healthy heart means you may need to diet by eating natural foods and exercise often. Do you really want a healthy vascular system? Practice eating all natural and/or using all natural supplements. Then incorporate a daily regimen of exercise into your busy schedule. Eat healthy my friends.

Best Way to Exercise For a Healthy Heart

January 7th, 2011

Exercise is a big help to keep your heart healthy and well. It can keep you away from diseases and will also make your body fit and healthy. But you need to remember that you need to do a few things before you try to exercise. There are some tips that you must know first.

Swimming is the best and most fun way of doing cardio exercises. It is very recommended to all ages and even for those who are already physically fit. Swimming tends to lift the stresses from the bodies unlike other forms of exercises.

Another food product that helps reduce cholesterol is omega-3. Omega-3 is a fatty acid that is noted to have many health benefits besides helping to reduce cholesterol. You can get good amounts of omega-3 from herring, sardines, salmon, walnuts and flaxseed.

Set aside a special time to unwind; even for just a few minutes. Use these times wisely to do things that you love such as giving yourself a bath, read a good book or write on a journal. If you go to work everyday, make sure that you really take a break during lunchtime.

Garlic – eat plenty of these if you want a healthy heart, as it has been long used to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and prevent heart ailments. It also does wonders to reduce blood pressure and has been proven by research to reduce clotting in blood vessels and lower cholesterol levels in the blood, making it very valuable for those suffering from artery or coronary disease.

While it is preferred to have a mineral rich diet for every meal; more intake of sugar should also be avoided, to maintain a proper balance of INSULIN in the body. Fruits and vegetables which have rich minerals like magnesium, calcium and potassium etc should be taken in good quantities. This and the use of fresh fish, lean meats and whole grain forms the basis of a HEALTHY HEART.

Oily fish and fish oils, that contain omega-three fatty acids, are excellent at stopping blood clots, lowering blood fat levels and assisting lower blood pressure. Interestingly, much research shows that the form of diet recommended to help prevent or control cardiovascular sickness – incredibly deficient in fat and elevated in carbs – although reducing dreadful LDL blood cholesterol, truly tends to increase harmful triglycerides.

Controlling alcohol can help reducing weight gain. A glass of wine alone has more than 85 calories. Cutting down alcohol will bring down calorie intake and thus prevent fat formation.

Another factor that affects the heart and its functions badly is strain and stress. However, it is hard to keep yourself from stress but still there are many ways to cope with this. Try to keep yourself busy in your anxiety hours, have a chit chat with your family members or peers.

Finally, exercise with the goal of being healthy and not with the goal of being perfect. Although losing weight for some is necessary, especially when the weight is affecting the body and heart, the goal should be to increase healthiness. What is considered healthy varies depending upon the person. Weight lost is not one size fits all. The goal is have a maintainable weight that will allow you to be heart healthy and at less risk for disease and pre-mature death.
